This is Alyssa and Hunter. They were the first ones to reach the top until the last little bit, and speedster Mylee passed them up.
It was a very steep hike, but the kids loved it.
You can't tell from this angle, but behind Mckay is a sheer drop-off of hundreds of feet. He was standing on a protruding rock. Brooke is taking the picture. She pushed Ryder in the stroller most of the way which was hard at with the steep incline. (Especially since she had run 22 miles that morning.)
Just look how steep the fall would be if you slipped off the trail
Several feet along the trail you can tell they had to dig holes in the rock to create the pathway. It was paved thank goodness because although it is only one and a half miles long, it climbs over a thousand vertical feet. VERY VERY STEEP. But at least Brooke and Hayliann were there to hold the arch in place.

Looks like a lot of work but a lot of good memories!
thanks for the compliment, but I ran 14 miles that morning, 22 was the next week. And actually, you give me too much credit. Dad pushed that stroller up that awful hill! But it was fun!
