SOME SPECIAL PEOPLE

AVAILABLE - Young Single Adult males seeking females- (Well with the exception of  Phillip second from the Right who just left on his mission a few days ago).  Send me your resume's if you are wanting to meet any of them. They come highly recommended!
Senior Couples in Kampala having dinner.  Saying good-bye to the Rix's (front left) and Thayns (front right)  Great people who served well in Uganda! (This was the second mission for both couples).
Lunch with Siprion and Harriet.  Jackfruit, chicken, yams, Gnuts, fried Cassava,  and Papaya - very good!  The granddaughter is in the background and the grandmother is on the ground to the right side.
Siprions Sister-in-law making dinner in her little brick hut kitchen.  They cook over coal.
The children grind the millet on a big stone.  They use it for cereal and bread
L to R - Brother of Siprion, Siprion, the grandmother, me, Rock.  Behind us is the family burial plots with headstones
In Uganda the women always bow on their knees when they meet men.  I told Siprion that in our country the Men bow to the Women so he took Harriets hand and bowed to her.  It made her really uncomfortable, but I thought that just shows what a good man he is.  They are a very sweet couple, new converts to the church.  Siprion rides his bike 18 miles each way to church every Sunday.  Sister Harriet put on her best dress for this picture.
Siprion's mother is 85 years old.
Sister Eunice with Sister Crayk and me.  We depend on Eunice a lot to help plan and take charge of the monthly YSA activities.  We had over 150 kids this last activity.  She is highly educated and has served a mission to Kenya.
Our trip to Kampala always includes a stop off in the office to check up on the AP's.  All three of these guys have been the Zone Leaders in Jinja at one time or another and they are great missionaries.  It's useless to try and hang on to them in our areas, they keep getting moved around, mission rules I guess.  We really miss them in Jinja.

Sarah is a full time employee of the mission.  She does a lot of work in the office

Suzi also works hard in the office.  She does the mission newsletter and things like that.  She helps me a lot with different projects
These boys are YSA but are not in the marriage market yet, we're still trying to get them to finish up Senior 6 in school and get their mission papers submitted.  Most of them are new converts
The Palaasi family the day they left to go to the temple in JoBerg.  They were happy to be able to be sealed together and with the help of their oldest son, they were able to do baptisms for many of their ancestors.  They also were able to do the work for his parents and grandparents.  Wonderful family.  Pres Palaasi is a school teacher and he also raises pigs.  Sister Palaasi is also a school teacher at a prestigious boys college.  She teaches comparative religion.  He teaches Science.
YOUNG SINGLE ADULT ACTIVITY - We had a talent show and each branch did something great.  This was a skit of being in a restaurant.  It was probably funny, but I missed most of it because they often revert to their own language which goes over my head. They had such a fun time doing it.
Torensio on the day he left for the temple to have his endowments.  He is not married so he went alone.  He serves as the councilor in the District Presidency and is a very good man
Loading everyone in the car to go to the airport to go to the temple, and saying good-bye.  A very long trip.
Beatrice after we handed her her mission call.  She is going to Nairobi Kenya.  She is very excited!
Transfer dinner.  The Elders are trying to be polite and wait for the Sisters to go first, but then the Sisters disappeared into the bathroom.  Soup and Salad night, with Fanta floats after.  Then we had games.
We really love doing stuff with our Jinja Elders.

I know I look like the mother in this picture, but Sister Crayk is my age really.

Having a good time
Drink your water, it gets hot here

Sometimes you have to let off steam and tell a few jokes

Rock and E Crayk are in charge of the floats.  Yes we used 5 gallons of ice cream and 8 bottles of Fanta

The daring duo in Jinja.  They are not tired, the party is just starting

Sometimes even the older Elders goof off
This is what you get when you go beg off the road

Out my car window - he wants to know what I'll give him
Looking for handouts
Ok, wasn't a good day for begging.  I don't dare open my window when we drive past because I am afraid they will stick their hands in the car

Ok so my windshield is dirty and it was raining and we were driving fast, but this guys was right on the road
The beauty in the everyday chores
Being a woman in Uganda

Human beasts of burden

Always somewhere to go
Selling the fruit

sometimes on the bike
Nursery in Iganga is Elder Davis.  The Branch President said; "will the Elders please go take care of the kids"  so that is how he got there, sitting on the floor down the hall

Primary in Iganga - and this is a good day, they actually sat in their chairs for  a minute
Graduation for Sam's sister
With his mother.  He just returned home from his mission

Still Here But Looking Tired

Could I get one of my children to please log into my blog and photoshop this picture so it makes us look younger please?
(Sorry to say I have had trouble updating my blog lately because our internet "upload" speed is too slow to get the pictures on .  I never had any idea that there was such a thing as upload speed till now.

We were at a very nice restaurant in Kampala with all the Sr. Missionaries.  Saying good-bye to good friends who have served long and well in the Uganda Kampala mission with us!  Yummy chicken and mashed Irish!  Real Ice Cream for dessert!
